Backstory: When we got Densuke, he was already about six and a half years old and had spent his life as the spoiled lap dog of the breeder off whose hands we took him. He's a purebred with papers and a registered name and all of that fun crap, but he has some kind of hip deformity (that I've never noticed) that prevented him from being shown, plus the abundance of non-cancerous tumors that just make him unsightly. Pretty much the only thing he's trained to do is bug people when he wants to be fed, watered, or let out, although for a time I could get him to go places by snapping my fingers and pointing. Now he's almost fourteen, and I'm lucky if I can manage to get his attention without picking him up or tapping him on the back, since he's extremely blind and almost entirely deaf. I was sitting in the living room watching a movie tonight and he got off my lap to go eat - when he was through, he went upstairs, came back down, stood by the couch, and then went back upstairs again looking for me because he couldn't see me sitting about five feet away or hear me when I called him. He did this about four times before he managed to trace my smell through the new furniture stink and locate me that way. This is what I have to work with. Someone on Boxtorrents (sorry, it's BakaBT now, isn't it?) uploaded a pack of every Shaman King-related CD ever produced, which I snagged at once because, hello, karaokes of all of the SFOV songs, most of which are freaking hard to find on CD now. I also discovered that the Osorezan Revoir arc of the manga, while lamentably not animated, was released as two drama CDs, to which I am now listening. I guess it's better than nothing, and I know the manga plus the key phrases they tend to use in the anime well enough that I can follow along with the Japanese pretty easily. Also, Matamune's voice is a lot different than I always heard it in my head. I dunno, I still want to see it done as an OAV. It's such a lovely story, and it has the potential to make for some really beautiful animation, what with all of the snow and the sadness. Oh, and this pack contained an alternate version of Ringo Urami Uta that's supposed to be Anna singing it, although it just sounds like Megumi Hayashibara with a bad head cold. I greatly preferred the way she did Anna's singing voice in Towaie - it sounded more like the way she actually voices the character.
